Mr. Neveloff represents clients in all aspects of transactional real estate as well as complex restructurings.  Mr. Neveloff has represented developers of numerous mixed-use projects, including Time Warner Center, as well as numerous regional and local shopping centers, and other commercial projects throughout the country.

Recently, Mr. Neveloff represented Starwood Hotels in selling the retail portion of the St. Regis Hotel, Manhattan; the owner of Starrett City, the largest federally subsidized housing complex in the United States, in a capital transaction; Fortress Investments in connection with The Sheffield, a 497-unit condominium; New York Life Insurance Company in the sale of Manhattan House, a residential complex comprising an entire block of Manhattan; and the seller of The New Frontier Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Mr. Neveloff has represented Donald Trump for more than 25 years in innumerable matters.

Mr. Neveloff received his J.D. from NYU and was elected to the American Law Institute, American College of Real Estate Lawyers and American College of Mortgage Attorneys.

Mark Wilsmann

Managing Director and Head of Real Estate Equity

MetLife Investment Management

Mark Wilsmann is Managing Director and Head of Equity Investments for MetLife Real Estate Investors. Named to this role in 2012 in conjunction with MetLife’s launch of its real estate asset management business, Wilsmann is responsible for leading MetLife’s $20 billion direct property investment platform, investing on behalf of the MetLife General Account as well as institutional investors including public and private pension funds and sovereign wealth funds. His team recently established a new flagship open-ended fund, the $2.8 billion MetLife Core Property Fund, as well as core/core-plus managed accounts. Annual acquisitions volume has exceeded $2 billion in each of the past three years.

Between 2003 and 2012, Wilsmann led MetLife’s commercial mortgage lending business, directing product design, pricing, and origination activities and chairing the investment committee. Under his leadership, MetLife became recognized as the top life company portfolio lender, with annual lending volume averaging more than $10 billion.

Over his 26-year real estate career with MetLife, Wilsmann held roles in asset management, acquisitions, loan production, portfolio management, regional operations, and merger integration. He served on the board of directors of the Mortgage Bankers Association and the leadership of the Commercial Mortgage Board of Governors of the MBA. He is a trustee and member of the Urban Land Institute, and is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate, and the Capital Markets Committee of the Real Estate Roundtable.

Wilsmann holds a BA and MBA from Wake Forest University.

Ms. Ng is the Managing Director and Co-Head of Investments of Cottonwood Group. In her role as Managing Director, she oversees the Group’s real estate investment activities. Previously, Ms. Ng was Managing Principal at Athena International Capital in Hong Kong, Executive Vice President of Investments at Easternflair in China, Head of Real Estate Business Development – APAC at Aviva Investor in Singapore, Director of Real Estate Acquisitions at Blackrock in Hong Kong, and Director & Principal of the Capital Markets Group at Taurus Investment Holdings in Boston. To-date, she has completed over 100 real estate transactions, totaling over US$2.5 billion in the US, EU, and Asia, representing investors from eight jurisdictions globally.

Ms. Ng graduated from MIT with a Bachelor of Science and from Harvard University with a Master of Architecture with Distinction, as well as being a CFA and CAIA charter holder.

Fred Cooper joined Toll Brothers in 1993 to establish its Finance and Investor Relations Departments. As the firm’s in-house investment bank, the team he leads is responsible for Toll’s capital markets and investor relations activities, its financial planning initiatives, and its partnering relationships with major U.S. and international financial and development institutions. Since formation, the group has raised over $20 billion from U.S., European and Asian banks, the public capital markets and institutional partners. In addition to capital raising, they advise on complex project structuring, joint ventures, corporate mergers and acquisitions and major property acquisitions.

 

Fred has been financial point for Toll’s expansion into the urban high-rise condo business through Toll Brothers City Living, which has grown into an operation of over 45 buildings and 5,500 units.  He also has been financial point for Toll’s expansion into the rental apartment business through Toll Brothers Apartment Living, which now controls $3 billion in assets in a pipeline of completed and in-development projects totaling over 20,000 units. He also has overseen Toll Brothers’ development of international relationships in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

 

From 1989 to 1993, Fred was Director of Corporate Finance and Planning at DKM Properties Corp., the real estate arm of one of the nation’s largest private companies. From 1984 to 1989, he was Senior Vice President and a member of the Executive Committee of the Financial Services Corporation, New York City’s economic development bank. From 1980 to 1983 he worked in community-based affordable housing and economic development in the South Bronx and Brooklyn, New York.

 

He holds an A.B. from Brown University and a Master of Public Policy in finance and international development from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

 

Fred has a strong personal interest in economic and real estate development and affordable housing in emerging markets.  He co-developed and teaches in Wharton’s “Real Estate Development in Emerging Markets” course and has lectured on real estate finance and development since 2006 in Wharton’s International Housing Finance Program. He is President of U.S. Friends of Kenya Community Development Foundation and an advisor to REALL International, which provides capital and technical assistance to affordable housing developers in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. He is a volunteer consultant with the Stanford University SEED Program, where he works with African entrepreneurs in the real estate development sector.

 

Fred is an active mentor and lecturer at a variety of graduate-level real estate programs. He serves on the Harvard Alumni Real Estate Board, and as an advisor to the Harvard Journal for Real Estate. He also serves on the University of Wisconsin Graaskamp Center Real Estate Advisory Board and is a member of the ULI Global Exchange Council.

Mr. Swig is President of Swig Equities, LLC, an investment and development firm focusing on the acquisition and development of real estate in New York City and California. Since 2001, Swig Equities has purchased and/or is in the process of developing in excess of $3 billion of properties including holdings in Downtown Manhattan’s FiDi (Financial District) neighborhood comprising of 110 William Street, a 910,000 square foot office building; 80 Broad Street, a 440,000 square foot office building; 90 Broad Street, a 400,000 square foot office building; 44 Wall Street, a 350,000 square foot office building; 48 Wall Street, a 324,000 square foot office building; 5 Hanover Square, a 335,000 square foot office building; 770 Lexington Avenue, a 175,000 square foot commercial office building located in Midtown Manhattan, among others. Swig Equities residential investments include The Sheffield, 322 West 57th Street, a 58-story mixed-use building comprising 582 residential units, 109,000 square feet of commercial office, 8,840 square feet of retail, and a 372-car parking garage; 58 apartments within the 198 unit residential building located at 401 East 89th Street; among others.

Sam Zell is the Chairman of Equity Group Investments (EGI), the private investment firm he founded more than 40 years ago. The firm’s investments span industries and continents, and include interests in finance, energy, transportation, communications, healthcare and real estate. Zell is recognized as a founding father of today’s public real estate industry after creating three of the largest real estate investment trusts (REITs) in history.

He is also Founder and Chairman of Equity International, a private investment firm focused on building real estate-related businesses in international emerging markets. Zell has been particularly active in bringing Equity International’s companies to the public markets. Three of these investments are listed on the New York Stock Exchange: Gafisa, a leading homebuilder in Brazil; Xinyuan, a fast-growing regional homebuilder in China; and Homex, Mexico’s leading homebuilder. A fourth, BR Malls, Brazil’s largest retail property owner and operator, is listed on the Bovespa.

Zell maintains substantial interests in, and is the Chairman of, four other public companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange: Equity Residential, the largest apartment REIT in the U.S.; Equity LifeStyle Properties, Inc., a manufactured home community REIT; Covanta Holding Corporation, an international owner/operator of energy-from-waste and power generation facilities; and Anixter International Inc., a leading global provider of communications, security, and wire and cable products. Previously, Zell served as Chairman for Equity Office Properties Trust, which was sold in 2007 to The Blackstone Group for $39 billion in one of the largest private equity transactions in history. 

Zell serves on the JPMorgan National Advisory Board; the President’s Advisory Board at the University of Michigan; the Visitor’s Committee at the University of Michigan Law School; and with the combined efforts of the University of Michigan Business School, established the Zell/Lurie Entrepreneurial Center. Zell’s continual assistance to Michigan’s MBA program has also enhanced the Business School’s Polish Studies Program. He was appointed a DeRoy Visiting Professor in Honors at the College of Literature, Science and the Arts at Michigan. He is also a long-standing supporter of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton Real Estate Center, where he endowed the Samuel Zell/Robert Lurie Real Estate Center. Zell also endowed Northwestern University’s Center for Risk Management. He holds a JD degree and a BA from the University of Michigan.
