This includes securing capital for new and existing real estate projects and negotiating joint venture, operating, and loan agreements with investors and lenders. Additionally, Daniel helps identify, underwrite and close potential development and acquisition projects and provides on-going investment analysis for properties within the firm’s portfolio. In complement to these responsibilities, Daniel provides debt placement services through his affiliate AIP Investments, Inc. (www.aip-investments.com).
Prior to CC&F, Daniel was a Founding Partner of Andean Investment Partners, a real estate firm focused on investments and developments in Lima, Peru. Prior to Andean, Daniel worked in acquisitions and asset management at Taurus Investment Holdings, an international private equity real estate firm headquartered in Boston. Daniel received a B.A. from Colgate University and is currently an M.B.A. candidate at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Werner supports NT’s Asset Management and Property Management activities. Mr. Werner brings nearly 20 years of diversified commercial real estate experience to bear on supporting the NT plan for its assets under management and portfolio initiatives.

Prior to that Mr. Werner was in a similar position with HDG Mansur providing real estate fund and asset management and property development services. While there, Mr. Werner and his team managed and advised on over $5.6 billion in real estate investments on behalf of private clients and select institutions worldwide. Prior to that, Mr. Werner had turns at Mitsui Fudosan, UBS Realty Investors (where he worked with Mr. Reardon), Cornerstone Properties – subsequently acquired by Equity OfficeProperties – and RREEF. In addition, Mr. Werner had spent 5 years on the Senior Project Staff of one of the largest infrastructure construction projects in US history.

Mr. Werner currently serves as an Adjunct Professor, RE Finance at Baruch College – Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute and teaches Argus in Commercial Real Estate. Mr. Werner holds an MS - Real Estate Investment and Development with an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Construction.

He is responsible for developing investment strategy, sourcing operating partners and investment opportunities, and overseeing all aspects of underwriting, due diligence, investment structuring, and closings.  Mr. Withey is a member of the Firm’s Investment Committee.  Prior to joining Virtus, Mr. Withey spent eight years in the acquisitions group at Walton Street Capital, an institutional private equity firm focused on opportunistic real estate investing.  Throughout his career, Mr. Withey has closed over $1.5 billion in real estate acquisitions representing over $600 million of total equity invested.  Mr. Withey graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University with a B.S. in both Economics and Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences
