Urban logistics has become a key investment theme as e-commerce sales continue to grow significantly, increasing demand for last-mile logistics assets close to urban centres, as online retailers look to optimize supply chains, raise service levels, and lower transport.  As a result, investors are evaluating the industrial sector within their portfolio and capital inflows have increased.  Despite this, investors should remain diligent, and must carefully evaluate opportunities against a backdrop of fierce competition for quality assets. Headwinds are also on the horizon, from the limited land supply, the ability to achieve scale, technological change, and evolving structural trends.  The webinar will explore the drivers and risks and will provide critical insights to successfully evaluate the long-term relative value of the sector.

Pat chairs the investment committee and is responsible for deal sourcing, negotiation, and strategic asset acquisition and exit strategies. Prior to Circle Industrial Pat has worked exclusively in industrial real estate, first with CBRE as a Los Angeles broker, and then as a Senior Vice President with Prologis. His experience includes direct oversight over all operating aspects for over 30 million SF of industrial property; leadership of Prologis’ Southern California deployment team, having directly developed 7.5 MSF of Class A product over 15 projects, acquired 3.8 MSF of core and value-add acquisitions through 20 deals totaling 39 buildings, and strategic disposition of individual assets as user and investment sales to maximize value. Pat is also on the board of directors for NAIOP SoCal.

Since joining Oaktree in 2008, Mr. Kim has been involved in the sourcing, analysis, execution and asset management of various real estate investments for Oaktree’s Real Estate strategy.

His focus has been on commercial and residential investments including office, industrial, hotel and home building assets located in the western United States. Prior to joining Oaktree, Mr. Kim was an analyst in the real estate investment banking group at Banc of America advising real estate companies on M&A and capital raising transactions. Mr. Kim received a B.A. degree in economics with honors from the University of California, Berkeley.

P.  Carey, where he has worked since January 2015.  In this capacity, Mr. Hammodi coordinates all  global real estate related transactions of the W. P. Carey group.  Prior to joining W. P. Carey,  Mr. Hammodi headed the Real Estate practice group of Reed Smith in New York, a Global Top25 law firm.
