With widespread global market uncertainty likely to prevail in 2021, the real estate sector has proven to be more resilient than other markets. The focus of this session is to evaluate how investors in commercial real estate can proactively implement strategies to manage or minimize risk in 2021.

  • Analyzing the top risks for 2021 and an overview of the common risk types: market, asset, liquidity, credit, debt and financial structure.
  • Balancing short-term volatility while anticipating the long-term impacts of 2020’s large-scale economic and market interventions.
  •  Comparing low level real estate capital market risk such as industrial properties, data centers and single-family with higher risk market such as retail and hospitality.
  • Forecasting future in the financial landscape and the impact on lending.
  • Developing robust plans to manage risk at each stage of the investment cycle.
  • Leveraging data and analytic tools to drive a more proactive approach to lowering risk.
